They have already made their retirement money and now want to deny the same opportunity to locals. You should be concerned about Concordia Gold with thier water use and cyanide and Rofomex, La paz and Baja Mining, Sta. Rosalia as well. Both of these other projects will use vast amounts of water, discharge sulfuric acid and diesel fuel reagents into the Sea Of Cortez.
These companies care very little about you and your friends in Baja California, they only care about thier shareholders and how they can line thier pockets with CASH. The COO of Baja Mining has a history of failure in Russia and in Bolivia, a Canadian company whom is better at mining investors than operating mines, these people are simply waitng for someone to buy them out sdo they can walk away with millions and leave all the Mexicans nationals holding ther bag. Rofomex management cares nothing about thier employees and the community as well. Concordia may be feasable, but the risks are there to contanimate the environemnt as well.
STOP these projects before they do permananet damage to the Sea of Cortez.
Send an E Mai anbd I wsill give you detailed information regarding these companies and thier lack of respect for the environment and the people of Baja California Sur. How in-attention due to inattention to detail,lack of training, concern for zero discharge and disdain for thier employee will surely result in an environemental disaster.s

All mining activities create environmental hazards. All good land is occupied by local inhabitants, human and/or wild life. All construction requires mining products.
It is a question of whose life is more precious. If you are building something locally without mining locally, you are taking advantage of people/wildlife elsewhere. To be fair, stop mining all together, and stop building, stop tourism, reduce economic activity to bare minimum. That is the way to save earth. :)))

Great web site, please keep up the good work to stop this undesired project in the beatifull Baja Califroni Sur. All this Place needs, is to be left as it is. I am from Magdalena Bay area, and currently living in Vancouver Island. we'll see what we can do from here. at least try to inform the canadians about this problem. Since the company Vista Gold seems to be from here.

No sean ridiculos, usen el cerebro. México les guste o no, es un país con rica tradición minera y con todo respecto, pero las actividades de las ONG no generan desarrollo y su aporte a la economia son claramente insignificantes. Que facil es decir "No a la Mineria", pero practicamente la totalidad de lo que usamos actualmente y que nos define como una sociedad avanzada y no como animales salvajes. Se lo debemos a los METALES que surgen de la MINERÍA. Tu computdora, IPOD, Nintendo, Automovil,Casa etc, existen gracias a la minería

Ahora bien, los GRINGOS de Todos Santos, los cuales se creen dueños de México se oponen a la Minería, pero su país USA, utiliza inconmesurables cantidades de metal, para fabricar sus bombitas, pistolas, portaaviones etc. etc. etc. y que orgullosamente, como parte de su sana sociedad, lanzan encima de otros paises ¿Eso es moral?, donde esta la etica.

Eso sin mencionar que todas las ONG utilizan metales de alguna manera.

Entonces me pregunto ¿no es una incongruencia?. Por ejemplo, si yo estoy en contra de la drogadicción, entonces no consumo drogas; es lógico ¿no?. Si las ONG estan en contra de las industrías, entonces deberían vivir sin los productos que estas generan ¿o no?.

Pero yo veo que tienen carros que consumen petroleo y que generan CO2, usan computadoras con "ORO" dentro de sus circuitos. ¿Eso es ética me pregunto yo?.

Y si a esta ya de por sí, falta de ética, le sumamos
-que protegen las tortugas de una playa, pero la de otras no.
-que se quejan de una mina en la reserva de la biosfera Sierra de La Laguna, pero nunca se han opuesto a las 3 minas que se encuentran en la reserva de la biosfera de Vizcaino.
-que protegen los ecosistemas, pero no se oponen a la construcción de hoteles a lo largo de la costa.
-que gastan miles o millones de pesos en desarrollar tecnologías y que siempre quedan en proyecto.

Con todo esto, a mi me disculparán, pero las ONG son todo menos protectoras del ambiente. Mas bien son una pantalla que tristemente mucha gente apoya con o sin conocimiento de causa y que además resulta en un jugoso negocio y sistema de manipulación.

De ustedes dependerá formarse un criterio, analizar y discutir o ser borregos de una farza
